CHOCOLATE AND OAT DONUTS

1. Separate the whites of the eggs and beat them with the milk and vanilla.

2. Mix the oats with the yeast and beat in with the milk mixture until smooth. Add sugar according to taste.

3. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Butter the donut baking pans and fill with the mixture.

4. Bake the donuts for 20 minutes and remove from the pan when cold.

5. Meanwhile, prepare the glazing: In a saucepan over medium heat, mix 6 tbsp soya milk (or your choice) with the cocoa and as much sugar as it takes to thicken.

6. Let the glazing cool down for a little while before pouring over the donuts.Sprinkle with the almonds.

    250g Quaker oats
    2 eggs
    Sugar (as required)
    1 dstsp bicarbonate of soda
    1 dstsp yeast
    2 tbsp vanilla extract
    Soya milk (or your choice)
    3 tbsp cocoa powder
    12 finely chopped almonds
    A little butter
